Series 24 Exam

Definition - What does Series 24 Exam mean?

The Series 24 Exam is designed to test those individuals who wish to supervise or manager others in the areas of investment banking, training or solicitation along with general business conduct as required by FINRA. This is not a stand-alone exam and candidates must be aware of the required prerequisites before they register for the Series 24.

The Series 24 Exam focuses on testing individual knowledge in the areas of:
  • Supervision of Investment Banking - 33 Questions
  • Supervision of Trading and Market Making - 31 Questions
  • Supervision of Brokerage Office Operations - 29 Questions
  • Sales Supervision; Employees; Regulatory Framework of FINRA - 43 Questions
  • Compliance and Financial Responsibility - 14 Questions
The Series 24 Exam is a 150 question multiple-choice exam that must be completed within 3½ hours. This exam is administered year round at Prometrics and Pearson testing centers and costs $115.00. Please note that the $115.00 only covers the cost of the exam and there will be other fees involved in the testing process. Successfully passing this exam requires a score of 70% or better.

Please note that individuals wishing to sit for the Series 24 Exam must first pass either the Series 62, Series 82, Series 38, Series 37, Series 17 or the Series 7 exam.

Also while this exam is available year round, it cannot be taken on Sundays. Please keep this in mind as you schedule your test and choose your testing location.
