Definition - What does LEED Green Associate Exam mean?

The LEED Green Associate exam was created to help measure a candidate’s ability and commitment in relation to green construction and operation. This exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within a 2-hour time frame. The LEED exam is administered via computer and must scheduled through Prometrics. Successful completion of the LEED exam requires a score of 170 or above.

Candidates should note that there are specific prerequisites for anyone wishing to take the LEED Green Associate exam. Eligible candidates need to have either:
  • experience in a project that is registered for LEED certification, or
  • be employed in a field of work that is viewed to be sustainable, or
  • have completed or be enrolled in an educational program dedicated to teaching green building principals.
